Eringsboda - Snow, Friends & Feasting
There are few things that make me happier than friends, food and the quality time spent enjoying both. At the end of February, we spent a beautiful, snowy weekend in Eringsboda, Sweden doing just that.
Spending time together to celebrate our friend’s birthday meant cooking and feasting on delicious food, drinking good wine and terrible schnapps and having a 1990s themed dance party. All activities best enjoyed with special people.
In amongst the woods and by the lake, (back before the frustration of ‘The Beast from the East’ snow storm brought Glasgow to a grinding halt) the snow framed the beautiful bright lake house buildings and made for a magical morning of play.
During an expedition into the nearby seaside town of Ronneby, we were accompanied by a light dusting of fresh snow and a chance for fika – my favourite Swedish pastime (meaning simply to have coffee and food together).
Living in Glasgow has given us the chance to live a truly international life. There aren’t many weekends that I have spent meeting friends from Australia and Denmark, driving into Sweden and flying back to Scotland. In fact this was perhaps the ONE weekend we will do this in our lives, and it was brilliant and over far too quickly.
